Path of Success at National Garden Clubs, Inc. headquarters: the Harpswell brick

Two members of Harpswell Garden Club travelled to St Louis, Missouri recently to represent Maine at the annual convention held by National Garden Clubs, Inc. Suzanne Bushnell and Becky Gallery attended the two-day event held within view of the Gateway Arch. In addition to meetings of the state presidents and board of directors, there were seminars and a petite flower show to attend. Both days’ events concluded with dinners to which all attendees were invited. Despite the long days, the visit was rewarding. Suzanne and Becky were able to re-connect with garden club members they know from previous meetings while making new acquaintances. The meetings and seminars provided opportunities to learn more about growing orchids,  therapeutic horticulture, NGC schools and more. A shuttle to the NGC headquarters and Missouri Botanic Gardens provided the visitors with access to both the headquarters grounds, building and staff and entry to the botanic gardens adjacent to the headquarters’ property.
