Our Holiday Mugs Brighten Spirits

Here we are with some of our mugs
Eighteen “Christmas elves” from the Harpswell Garden Club came together on December 9th to brighten the holidays for some of our elderly Harpswell residents and others needing some Christmas cheer! In what has become a holiday tradition, members met at the Kellogg Church to create Christmas mugs filled with fresh-cut greens and holiday “bling”. More than 50 Christmas-themed mugs were assembled in about 90 minutes. Becky Gallery, who has led this project for the last few years, then took the mugs home with her. A volunteer from Harpswell Aging at Home (HAH) stopped by Becky’s this past weekend to pick up the mugs which were then delivered to many residents who rely on HAH for everything from home cooked meals to help with home renovations and to now some Christmas cheer! Thanks go out to Becky for leading this project, to Susan Flagg for the goodies for the elves, to those who donated the greens and bling, and to the generous help of our members who created the colorful mugs.
