Get Outside and into the Gardens!
Spring is here, crocus and daffodils are in bloom, and the urge to get outside is here, too. Our garden club has planned several work days for our gardens. We will be at Harpswell’s Town Office on Mountain Road on May 1, and then at Centennial Hall on Harpswell Neck Road on May 3. Our garden volunteers will also address the spring clean-up at the historic Union Church (554 Harpswell Neck Road) on Thursday, May 11, and later in the month, we will visit the Memorial and Friendship Gardens at the Brunswick Naval Aviation Museum, as well as the Gold Star Families Memorial Marker next to the P-3 in Brunswick Landing.
Our gardens depend on those volunteers who turn out to rake, prune and mulch. The volunteers work throughout the season, weeding, watering and deadheading the gardens. As you pass by, stop and visit the gardens, enjoying the scents and colors of blooming plants. Or contact our garden club to learn how you, too, can join our volunteers.
