On June 15 and 16, Maine’s garden clubs gathered at the Sheraton Sable Oaks in South Portland for the GCFM’s 90th annual convention. Each club in the Stroudwater District contributed to the convention in some way, and Harpswell opted to provide flowers for the public spaces. Barbara Aiken, chair of the club’s Flower Committee, led her volunteers in bringing color and pizazz to the convention. Tuckie Westfall, the Club’s president, and Jackie Pellerin, chair of the Wedding Committee, assisted Barbara in the floral display. Hotel management complimented our ladies on the beautiful arrangements, saying they wished we were there everyday! The arrangements brightened the registration areas, entry to the ballroom, and even the ladies room. Thank you, ladies, for bringing such a visual joy to our convention.
