Karen Rea, Stroudwater District Director, installs Becky as Club President and presents an Echinacea as a gift

On a beautiful summer day in a lovely garden setting, Becky Gallery was installed Thursday, June 18th, as the new Harpswell Garden Club President.  The festivities took place at the Harpswell Historic Park Gardens which looked especially lovely with the peonies, dogwood and many other perennials in full bloom.  Becky succeeded Elisa Civello who had served as President for the last three years.  Karen Rea, Stroudwater District Director and a member of the Longfellow Garden Club, presided over the installation.  Also installed was our HGC Treasurer Anne Taft who is serving another term while Becky is President.  Pam Corrigan, Recording Secretary, was unable to attend and formally be installed, because of a previous family commitment.

There were about 30 members who were in attendance and took the opportunity to visit with friends before the installation.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s been impossible to have any of our regularly scheduled meetings.  So the installation in the HHP Gardens marked the first occasion that members were able to get together.  While the weather continues to cooperate, the Club plans to have more outdoor events, including a get together in the Gardens in July.  More information will be made available on this event.
