On your next drive down Route 123 in Harpswell, take a look at the Union Church. There is a new sign in place, telling passersby who maintains the historic building. “Restored and Maintained by the Harpswell Garden Club” is on display for all to see. Thanks to generous donations from members of the club’s board, Union Church is no longer anonymous. Our garden club can boast about the care we give this historic treasure. For those future brides, there is a sign to guide guests to the weddings. The street number is also on display, making the destination easier to find. And best of all, our garden club’s website is painted on the sign, providing a means to contact us for information about the church.
