Fun and Fabulous Fall Fest was Just That!
On September 10, 2016, the Harpswell Garden Club held its annual fundraiser, dubbed the Fun and Fabulous Fall Fest. This year’s event featured music and food as well as the annual yard sale, bake sale, mums, bouquets and crafts. We had a tremendous turnout, and with the support of dozens of garden club members, raised over $4500! The bake sale alone garnered over $1000. That is a lot of cookies and pies!
It was fun to walk through the Historic Park’s gardens, listening to music provided by Harpswell’s Jim Cornish, enjoying a cup of coffee perked fresh by our club president, Ann Standridge. The weather was fabulous, and there was an amazing array of treasures available inside Centennial Hall at the yard sale, organized by Sue Perless and her capable assistants. More vendors were on site, with all kinds of crafts, and we had a hot-dog vendor in time for that early lunch many of us needed. The mums and ornamental kale all sold out, and bouquets were selling quickly, too. Gloves and garden club tee shirts also were popular with our customers.
Thank you, all, who contributed in so many ways: organizing the yard sale, baking, staffing the tables, helping put up the canopies, assisting our visitors with their purchases, and just being present to make the day truly fabulous!
