Cellar Door Winery Plays Host to our Club

Members of the Club get ready for our wine tasting!
A great time was had by several members of the Club as we journeyed to Lincolnville to visit the headquarters of Cellar Door Winery on June 9th. Located between two mountains, a beautiful vista unfolds for visitors to the wine tasting room, housed in an old historic barn. The vineyard itself is located in a valley between the two mountains, evoking a scene reminiscent of the Napa Valley of California — but right here in Maine! Members were treated to a tasting of five wines in the new dining area of the winery.

After the taste testing, we were taken to the production area to see how wine is stored and eventually bottled and packaged for sale. We also had the opportunity to take a trip down the hill to the actual vineyard to see how grapes are grown in Maine. All of us agreed this was one of the

best field trips we’ve ever taken!
