Lovely Lilies in Harpswell
This season’s lilies have been extra-lovely. The weather has apparently been beneficial to our lilies. Garden club member Sue Luce offered us the opportunity to see her collection of day lilies recently. Sue has been planting many varieties of day lilies since she and her husband moved to Harpswell. This season’s crop was spectacular the day we visited. Lilies lined the drive and went into the woods beyond the house, too. Other day lilies are in bloom at the Harpswell Town Office garden. Peggy Shanler’s deer-repelling solution keeps those lilies intact for our viewing pleasure. Around South Harpswell, some of us have other lilies in bloom, too.
Here are some of Harpswell’s lovely lilies.
